The Story
In November of 2000, Tony DeFalco lost his father, David Franklin DeFalco Sr., to suicide. Like many families affected by suicide, the loss left a deep and lasting impact. For years it was something that wasn’t openly discussed. But Tony believes that silence is part of the problem. Too many people struggle alone. Too many families experience the same heartbreak. So Tony decided to turn that loss into purpose. He began a 50-state journey across America in 50 days to raise awareness about suicide prevention and mental health. Every mile is dedicated to starting conversations that could help save lives.

This journey is about my father. Losing him to suicide changed my life forever. For many years I carried that loss quietly. But I’ve come to believe that sharing our stories can help others.
